The City Council will consider voting to allow affordable housing developers certain incentives, such as the ability to build taller buildings, at its 2 p.m. meeting today.

The incentive program pushed by Mayor Jerry Sanders is based on a state law. It has drawn fire from local activists who argue that developers could skirt around certain community guidelines like the coastal height limit or building fees if it is enacted.
