Independent Budget Analyst Andrea Tevlin applauded Mayor Jerry Sanders on Thursday for his response to last August’s Kroll report, saying that his staff’s work to fix the ills pointed out by the consultants “should be a strong positive signal to the citizens, the financial community and the nation.”
The report by Tevlin, who reports to the City Council, foreshadows next week’s evaluation by attorney Stanley Keller. The attorney was hired as the monitor required by the city’s settlement with the Securities and Exchange Commission in November. Keller will present his report Monday, the same day that the council undergoes training on financial disclosure, which was one of the remediation measures Kroll recommended.
