So this U.S. attorney story has legs — lots of them. The national media went wild with it today. Where do we start?

Here’s the most recent update from The New York Times on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ admission today that “mistakes were made” in the handling of the sacking of eight U.S. attorneys nationwide, including San Diego’s Carol Lam.

The Los Angeles Times had this story today on the resignation of Gonzales’ chief of staff, and ties it to the U.S. attorney controversy. The Washington Post also had this report today stating that the idea for the firings originated in the White House.
