Every few months or so I get the idea to try to live without paper towels, thinking I’ll save a few bucks and reduce my environmental footprint at the same time. But then I get to wondering how much water I’m wasting by switching to cloth and I stop. Also, it’s a pain.

The New York Times has a fascinating story today about a Manhattan family that has committed to using no toilet paper, among other things, for an entire year.

The husband has a book deal based on the experiment so that’s a good motivation, but still, no toilet paper?

I’m dying to find some San Diegan’s who are trying to reduce their footprint or otherwise live more simply than the average American. Let me know if you’re one of those people because I’d love to talk to you for a future blog.
