Monday, March 26, 2007 | It is interesting to follow the Chargers in their search for a new stadium. The problem is the Chargers want to be in the development business and reap the profits just like the Padres accomplished in their move downtown.

If the Chargers truly wanted just a new stadium, they could present a plan to build a new one next to the Q and demolish the Q when it was finished. They would have a place to play and a new stadium when they finished the building. They would still have the practice field the city paid for close by. But, this would not let them into the redevelopment business. If they were good partners, they would increase the method to get to the freeways while building the new stadium. I know the naysayers will disregard this thought, but just listen to the Chargers’ words.
