Wednesday, May 9, 2007 | I received my notice today about the city employee health insurance. The future has never been as clear to me as now.

The fire and police were forced to take Kaiser Insurance. Now I am being forced to take Kaiser as well.

Sure, I have a choice between Kaiser and Sharp. Gee, let this dump employee figure this out. Sharp will cost me $500 more this year. Kaiser will cost me $700 less this year.

I got it mayor, choose Kaiser. One problem with your strategy. We have 10,000 employees with families. That is a potential of 40,000 people descending down on the Kaiser hospital in Zion for treatment.

Anyone in that think tank of yours figure out that the waiting time to take care of my heart attack will be days? Heaven forbid if a city employee’s child has an ear infection and has to wait for a week to get treatment.

Great idea to consolidate the health plans. The one thing you forgot about is you are short of hospitals in this city.

No one healthcare provider can handle the volume of health needs this city requires.
