Monday, May 14, 2007 | Peter Q. Davis makes some good points. What is needed is for the business community, which supported Mayor Sanders in his campaign, to face the realities and join in solving the problem. Further, while we all talk about not increasing taxes I, for one, am willing to pay taxes to get the services I not only need but want. How about you?

Someone needs to start a ballot petition to increase sales tax by 0.5 percent for the next five years. That along with the costs savings will put the city back in the black, an accounting color not seen since the administration of Maureen O’Conner.
