The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear developer Roque de la Fuente’s appeal to reinstate the $94.5 million verdict he won against the city of San Diego in 2001.
The high court’s decision spells the end for most of the claims the developer filed against the city, leaving remaining one final complaint that is worth a fraction of the initial judgment against the city.
The news comes months after the California Supreme Court declined to review the case. The Court of Appeal decided last September to overturn the behemoth verdict. Read more about the issue here.
