Monday, May 21, 2007 | It’s hard to imagine how anyone could miss the connection between the preposterous pensions that the city is expected to pay and the precarious financial position it finds itself in.
The pay scales are simply unsupportable. If no one else will say it, I will … all city workers are overpaid and underworked and the pensions they collect are so far from reasonable that they invite the contempt we are heaping on them.
For the pigs that have their noses in the trough to offer up a “too bad” is just further insult from an overcompensated parasite.
I can only hope that Aguirre’s claim that they were illegally granted gets traction so as to help stem damage that the crushing burden is causing.
