The City Council will resume its review of City Attorney Mike Aguirre’s budget tomorrow afternoon.
The council members have expressed concern with Aguirre’s management of the office since he was elected in 2004, pointing to cost of lawsuits initiated unilaterally and the rapid turnover of deputy lawyers.
Aguirre has chalked up the criticism to some council members’ political opposition to his investigations and lawsuits, some of which implicate the council members who have final say over his budget.
The hearing will take place at 2 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, located on the 12th floor of 202 C St. in downtown.
The city attorney has also scheduled a 1:30 p.m. press conference today to address the issue.
