Wednesday, May 23, 2007 | General disgust with the fiscal incompetence of the city’s decision-makers motivated voters to turn to one of the city’s harshest critics, City Attorney Mike Aguirre. Desperate times breed desperate choices. Aguirre, ever the opportunist, has ridden this wave of public outrage all the way to the shore — but the ride is over. The public’s dismay over city affairs can no longer conceal the ever more apparent fact that Aguirre is an out-of-control megalomaniac. To be against Aguirre and his destructive “slash and burn” tactics does not translate to support for either the mayor or the City Council, but Aguirre wants you to think it’s an “either or” situation.

I’m still appalled by the city’s plight, but I’m totally fed up with Aguirre’s egotistic antics, abuse of authority and heavy-handedness. Enough!
