A student who attended Escondido’s Felicita Elementary School from Nov. 1 until last Wednesday has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

School officials report that 70 students, teachers and staff in two classrooms and an after-school program may have been exposed to the airborne disease. Most exposed to TB do not contract it.

The county had 315 tuberculosis cases last year. For information call the county’s tuberculosis control program: 619/692-8621.
