Well, that should do it for the day. I believe this discussion today was a good illustration of what is going on in the Peninsula. There were a number of uninformed attack-like comments and only one or two thoughtful responses. This is an emotional issue for one side because it involves money. It affects the livelihoods of people who make money on development and real estate and related areas. Why else would such a discussion generate such vitriol? All I ask is that the people who live on the Peninsula pay attention to this election. Come to the candidate forum Thursday night at the Loma Riviera Clubhouse from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Go to the PCPB.net website and read about it. Vote this Saturday at the Point Loma Library. This is grassroots community politics: people who live in a community affecting what happens to their community. It is fascinating and it is energizing and it is rewarding. You owe it to your children and your grandchildren to get involved if no more than to vote. Thank you.
