The mayor asked Maureen Stapleton, the CEO of the San Diego County Water Authority, if she would take over the job Ronne Froman is vacating in the Mayor’s Office.
Stapleton said no.
I had heard that she was being considered. Fred Sainz, the mayor’s spokesman, said they were impressed with Stapleton and wanted her to join the team. But water is just too cool.
“She has a great job and we completely understand why she would want to stay at it,” Sainz said.
