We detailed the ever-expanding job duties of Chief Financial Officer Jay Goldstone in an article today, including his interim role as the city’s operating officer when current COO Ronne Froman resigns at the end of the month.

Goldstone will take on the job of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the city government until Sanders finds a permanent replacement for Froman, which he expects to do in a matter of months.

When Goldstone was asked if he would consider taking on the job permanently, here was his response:

My first love is finance. Clearly in the early parts of my career, I thought I would like to be city manager. But should I end up being COO, if he were to ask me and if it worked out well and would help the mayor, I would do it. But that’s obviously speculation.
