Thursday June 21, 2007Scott Lewis‘ column about Montgomery Field being “safe” with modified flight patterns to appease what Mayor Jerry Sanders calls and “irresponsible lawbreaking” corporation, misses one point. Sunroad spins the truth in an ugly way when it says the airport is still “safe” or it would be closed. Even Sunroad, if asked, cannot dispute the fact that while “safe” the airport is less safe now, than it was before the Sunroad building was built to an illegal height. It is the reduction in safety for the airport and the public that Sunroad is being taken to task for.
If developers were allowed to gradually reduce public safety in return for profits, we’d soon be down to a very unsafe situation everywhere you could look.
