Monday June 25, 2007 | It was with great irony that, after listening to the KPBS Editors Roundtable with Gloria Penner (June 22, 2007) segment on the possibility of upgrading San Diego’s main sewage treatment plant, I found “Beach Closed” signs all over the beaches of Imperial Beach this past Sunday (June 24, 2007).

Perhaps we should lead by example, spend the $1.5 billion and with the moral authority of the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Facility now compliant with federal secondary treatment standards, begin a real clean up of the system.
