If you’ve had a chance to read our People at Work story today about the can collector, you’ll remember that Tanya Hatch, while quite frugal, treats herself once a week to food from El Pollo Loco. She eats half one day and saves the rest for dinner the next.

This morning, I got an e-mail from Julie Weeks, the vice president of communications for El Pollo Loco. Here’s a snippet:

On behalf of the El Pollo Loco team, we were touched and honored to hear that Tanya chooses to treat herself with food from our restaurant.

And so, Weeks and her team have offered to track Hatch down and send her gift certificates to “supplement her visits.”

Maybe she’ll be able to have a treat twice a week for a while.
