The San Diego Unified School District announced Friday that it is soliciting bids from accounting firms interested in becoming the school system’s external auditor.

The bids are due Aug. 10 and the details are available online.

The district’s contract with its current auditor is set to expire this year. When I chatted with him outside the district office last week, SDUSD Chief Administrative Officer José Betancourt said that receiving clean audits was an underreported accomplishment of his 20-month tenure.
