Shouldn’t the City of San Diego have a meter replacement program in place already? What has the city been doing for years now if it isn’t? I worked at one of the agencies cited in the story and it has an ambitious automatic electronic meter replacement program in progress. It is inconceivable, except for the fact we are discussing the City of San Diego, that this has been going on for as long as the writer points out. It would make the city money to replace the meters using a contractor now rather than continue on with business as usual. I know that what affects San Diego flows downhill to everyone else regionally and the city needs to get its act together.
