Here’s a snippet that was snipped from my story today about homebuyers teaming up to purchase a property:
Barratt American offers a similar concept in its Aragon development in La Mesa. The townhouses are designed with two master bedroom suites, each with its own bathroom, each on its own floor. Then the kitchen and living area is shared.
I spoke with Jill Thomas, a marketing coordinator at the homebuilder, about the units. About two-thirds of the 30 “mingles units,” as they call them, have sold since Aragon opened for sale in August 2005, she said.
“We wanted two singles to buy together, that way they can afford something,” she said. “But with the dual master floor plans, they have complete privacy.”
She said the company also offers the mingles-unit concept in its City Square townhouse development in Escondido.
