Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 | It is great that JoAnne SawyerKnoll may amend or supplement her incomplete Sunroad investigation.

The report did not address Sunroad’s and Development Services Department’s claims that Sunroad somehow has vested development rights for unlimited height and unlimited floor-area ratio (FAR) when the City Council agreed to change the zoning to allow residential development in a commercial zone in 2002. We sent Mayor Sanders, Ms. Froman, Ms. SawyerKnoll, the Office of Ethics and Integrity, the City Council and the city attorney, among others, copies of our citizens’ investigation into Sunroad’s violations of the municipal code, the building permit, the master plan, the environmental impact report (EIR), and CEQA breaches.

Ms. SawyerKnoll’s Sunroad report ignored our correspondence and did not address any of our concerns. Her report only looked at the Federal Aviation Administration regulations that were violated. Sunroad’s high-priced attorney writes a letter after the fact, and Ms. SawyerKnoll is all over it. What are we, chopped liver?
