The city of San Diego is preparing its response to a letter the Securities and Exchange Commission sent a month ago requesting the municipality lay out progress its made in improving its financial reporting processes, a spokeswoman for Council President Scott Peters said.
In its July 23 letter, the SEC said the city needs to more clearly establish its goals for remedying the financial safeguards that led to its sanctions against the city last fall.
The City Council is slated to review the letter at Tuesday’s meeting. The meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the council chambers, located at 202 C St.
