Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007 | David Miller’s unsubstantiated attack on my attorney, Cory Briggs, is a fiction of his frustration with being asked to leave the City Attorney’s Office. Public service was never a priority for Miller.
Briggs is one of the public interest lawyers who have shredded the City Council’s contracts with developers that ignore state law. In the last year, the city has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to lose environmental cases downtown, in University City and most recently in Hillcrest.
With respect to 301 University Avenue, the Hillcrest property, it is time for Toni Atkins and her girlfriend, Jennifer LeSar, to resign as a council member and director of Center City Development Corporation respectively. Both women are shills for development interests. Atkins and Councilman Jim Madaffer both took thousands of dollars from Cheetahs in 2000 so that in 2002 only three more corrupt council members were needed to allow lap dancing again in San Diego.
