The long-awaited report into possible stadium sites in Chula Vista is scheduled to be released Thursday after months of delays.

I reported last month that the study will show two feasible stadium sites in Chula Vista: the current location of the South Bay Power Plant on the bay front and potentially city-owned land on the eastside, where the city hopes to build a four-year university. The article also noted that the Chula Vista report had essentially been done for months, but was being delayed by the city’s struggles with developer Gaylord Entertainment over a separate bay-front project.

The Chargers say they will take between 30 and 45 days to gauge after the release of this report and a similar one in Oceanside and should be settled on a site by the end of the year.

The team paid for the report, though it was done for the city, and says it has cost more than $200,000.
