I had another statistical bit that didn’t make it in today’s story on attrition in real estate.

The San Diego Association of Realtors sent me the average number of new members per month for the last few years:

In 2005, SDAR gained an average 253 new agents per month.

In 2006, an average 214 new agents per month.

So far in 2007, an average 172 new agents per month.

Even though the total members continues to grow (see the bottom graph in today’s story) in the local Realtors group, the rate at which new members are joining has dropped by about 75 members per month since 2005.
