Mayor Jerry Sanders today filled three top City Hall posts that were vacated in high-profile departures.

The mayor gave his chief financial officer, Jay Goldstone, an additional title: chief operating officer. That position was left open by the abrupt departure of Ronne Froman, the mayor’s No. 2 at City Hall and on the 2005 campaign trail.

He also promoted Planning Director Bill Anderson to deputy chief operating officer for land use and economic development. Jim Waring left the position after being caught up in the Sunroad scandal.

Eduardo Luna, the deputy city auditor in San Jose, Calif., was also announced as the city’s new internal auditor, more than nine months after John Torell resigned with complaints of undue pressure from the Mayor’s Office to spin numbers.
