Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 | Dear Honorable Mayor of Chula Vista Cheryl Cox,

It has been so long since I have seen it that I almost did not recognize what I was actually seeing on Tuesday night during the Chula Vista City Council meeting … a public exercise in political leadership. Furthermore, as a current and long-time resident of what was once proudly known as America’s Finest City, it was gratifying to finally meet a City Council that has a grand future vision and more importantly the apparent political will to implement it for the long-term benefit of their constituents and on the behalf of the San Diego region as a whole.

The future vision of a world-class iconic sports entertainment commercial destination venue in Chula Vista is a worthy one whether it is eventually realized on the rolling hills eastside or the ready to be made over bayside of your growing city. And whether one, the other or neither side, more than anything else I sincerely appreciate the extraordinary political side that is enabling the city of Chula Vista to make a serious good faith effort to keep the San Diego Chargers as a regional asset.

As a fan of San Diego and the Chargers, that is all I have ever asked for.

Thank You and Great Luck!
