You may recall that the City of San Diego’s Five-Year Financial Outlook projected a $174 million deficit for fiscal year 2009. Next month Mayor Sanders is scheduled to update the report. It may identify how he intends to close the gap entirely or it could provide updated “corrective actions” to partially address the daunting challenge, leaving us to speculate what will come forward in the fiscal year 2009 budget. I think the latter is more likely, and since this is a campaign year, you can count on polling being used to help the administration identify what’s “best for San Diego”.

I’m betting that VOSD readers have a lot to say on this matter.

So, let’s say you’re Mayor for a day. What would you propose?
