Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 | Dan Shea’s commentary was right on target when he mentioned the fact that times have changed and the public will no longer tolerate bully tactics. I admire his courage and applaud his observation that “… some people in San Diego are uncomfortable expressing their opinions fearing reprisal in the future.” Bullies cannot be tolerated. Nor should we tolerate politicians who fail to obtain the facts of an issue before commenting. It is clearly evident that there is no limit to the levels which the city attorney is prepared to stoop in order to subdue others, regardless of whether he is right or not. It is clear to me that Mike Aguirre believes that he is above reproach and answerable to no one. It’s time that the actions of the city attorney begin to demonstrate his mandates, and these will never be found following his own agenda.
