The California Supreme Court turned down City Attorney Mike Aguirre’s request to strike down an earlier legal decision that all but killed his pension case.

Aguirre asked the state’s high court in August to de-publish the case, known as Brandenburg v. Eureka Redevelopment Agency, in an attempt to resurrect the case. A judge had told Aguirre that an appellate decision in the case set up a statute of limitations barring the city attorney from challenging a decades’ worth of pension benefits increased.
