Here’s another interesting e-mail from the city’s CD of documents on the La Jolla landslide.
A couple of months before the massive landslide, the city’s senior engineering geologist, Rob Hawk, went and took a look at the area of concern on Soledad Mountain Road.
Here’s what he concluded on July 24 in an e-mail to other city officials:
After examining the repair and the pavement crack, as well as surrounding improvements, I concluded that there was no discernible evidence for a major landslide.
