Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 | I’ve been designing and building things all my life and I never started a new project where I didn’t have someone telling me reasons it wouldn’t work. If I listened to them, I wouldn’t be as well off as I am.

What I’ve learned is you have to start someplace and then improve upon the design. It’s part of the process. The fact is millions of people in our area don’t have control of the water they need. A judge in Northern CA may cut our water back to save a fish. Farmers who control Colorado River water may raise the bounty for the water we need and we don’t have any control of the outcome.

This desalination plant amounts to a pee hole in the snow to what should be done and we should get on with the job and commend Carlsbad for doing so.
