You may remember this story about the opening of the San Diego Police Department’s sparkling new northwestern division headquarters.

Well, the police department, along with Council President Scott Peters’ office, are inviting members of the public to come check out the new facility at an open house on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon. If you live in the area, and you’re partial to spending your Saturday mornings touring a police station, the new building is well worth checking out. It’s about as state-of-the-art a police station as I’ve ever seen.

The facility is located at 12592 El Camino Real in Carmel Valley.
