More than 170 well-known San Diegans, including City Attorney Mike Aguirre, spent this morning shadowing principals at San Diego schools. The annual event, “Principal for a Day,” was a joint effort of Merrill Lynch, the regional Chamber of Commerce and San Diego City Schools.

The leaders will cap the morning with a debriefing luncheon at the Paradise Point Resort and Spa, where Mayor Jerry Sanders will speak along with Superintendent Carl Cohn and San Diego Padres President Richard Freeman. The topic: How to unite schools and businesses to prepare students for the workforce.
