A technology guru is visiting Correia Middle School today to talk about technology, youth culture and business. Michael Furdyk, co-founder of the networking site TakingITGlobal.org, sold his first company at age 18 for $1 million, according to a San Diego Unified press release, and received a 2007 Microsoft Education Award.

He’ll be giving a speech, titled “Learning 2.0,” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday night at Correia Middle School, 4302 Valeta Street.

Parent Matt Spathas, founder of KidsforEd.com, a youth organization devoted to local education reform, was excited to see Furdyk visit San Diego schools. Furdyk will spend the day with teachers in the Point Loma Cluster, coaching them on how to bring technology into their lessons, Spathas said.
