Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 | I will keep this short. The clearest phenomenon in news is that people are tired of being talked to, and are dying to talk back. Reader comments on websites and feedback on TV serve many purposes (sanity check, silent majority commentary, wisdom of crowds, truly fair/unbalanced, cathartic, yadda yadda) and clearly drive engagement and return visitors to your website, local news, or capitalistic vehicle of choice. is clearly the most sane news vehicle in this town. Please do not lose your edge because you have blunted it by not allowing an instant lifeline and voice to your readers.
