The Police Department just sent an updated press release on the body found this morning in City Heights.

There are some interesting extra details included in the press release:

During the preliminary investigation, detectives learned of a previously unreported traffic accident involving a pedestrian at 4200 Euclid Avenue.  Based on evidence located at the traffic accident scene, it has been determined that the deceased victim was at 4200 Euclid Ave when he was struck by two different vehicles. The victim’s body was transported to the apartment complex parking lot and dumped.

The victim, 35, has been identified but his name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

Police described the first vehicle to hit the victim as “a mid-size red or maroon pick-up truck, similar to a Nissan, presumably with heavy front end damage. The second vehicle is being described as a yellow taxi cab.

Still no word on whether it’s been classified as a homicide. I put in a couple of calls, but haven’t heard back yet.
