San Diego’s Hard Rock Hotel, which had its grand opening yesterday, was mentioned in Sunday’s New York Times story ‘The 53 Places to Go in 2008.’

San Diego was No. 44 on the list, right between Algeria and the Spanish resort town of Málaga. Here’s how the Times described the city’s newest hotel, which is in the Gaslamp Quarter.

The 12-story hotel includes a Nobu restaurant, two Rande Gerber bars, a spa and a Pinkberry frozen yogurt shop — all under one roof.

It’s nice to know there are only 52 other places I have to go next year, including Malawi and Laos.
