The Metropolitan Transit System, which administers the San Diego Trolley system and local bus services, will announce a $1 million Homeland Security grant tomorrow that will pay for continued installation of surveillance cameras in San Diego’s trolleys and buses.
The grant will help pay for high tech cameras that will feature high-resolution imaging complete with wireless connectivity. A press release from MTS says the network will be among the first of its kind in terms of bus and light rail vehicle application.
