Couple of things I was hoping you could take a minute to check out. It used to be that when you clicked on a writer’s name in one of our stories, it opened an e-mail you could send to them. But now, we’ve made it so that you can go to that writer’s own page to catch up on any recent stories from them you might have missed. Like, for example, Kelly Bennett. Click on her name there to catch up on her latest work.
Also, I know it’s been kind of slow in Café San Diego recently. But we’ve been working. We’re going to be launching a bit of a redesign in there and a great election focus in coming weeks. Rather than hosting debates between the candidates, we will be hosting debates between the supporters of the candidates. Starting April 14, the discussions will rage. Now, we’re asking the campaigns for help identifying supporters. But we’re going to pick people if we don’t hear from them. Maybe I’m wrong, but I have a feeling that supporters will carry a different tone and feel a bit more free than the candidates to speak their mind. We’ll enforce good standards and make sure it’s a level playing field. But the best part is, if a candidate doesn’t participate, we can still make sure their supporters are represented.
There will still be days available here and there between the election debates. Let me know if you’d like to nominate a host.
Finally, I would be remiss to not send some props to my wife for yet another great cartoon on the site today. Remember, you can always catch up on her latest illustrations by clicking here. She’s only getting better. Hopefully soon we’ll be able to clean up the front page a bit and get the cartoons a permanent home.
