Earlier today, we pondered where City Attorney Mike Aguirre disappeared to before a debate in Rancho Penasquitos.
I just got off the phone with Aguirre, who said he had to leave early to work on an appeal for his landmark pension case. Aguirre said he thought the debate started at 7:30 p.m. and that he was merely going to make a statement that he needed to leave to work on the case. (The appellate brief in that trial is due on April 11.) He said that with the debates starting a bit later, he had to take off before he could tell the crowd he was off to his day job.
“I won’t be doing anything political until after the 11th,” he added.
