I talked to City Councilman Brian Maienschein last night. He told me he wanted to add his input to a point I made in my story this week about Maienschein’s rather spotty record of attendance at City Council meetings. An analysis of all City Council members’ voting records by an Aguirre supporter showed that Maienschein missed all or part of 23 meetings last year, a statistic Maienschein did not dispute.
He said that one of his daughters had a tumor in her back, close to her spine, last year. He said he missed several council meetings while his family sought treatment for the 3-year-old.
“It was a really serious thing and I missed four council meetings because of the medical complications involved,” Maienschein said.
