Timothy Caban, the alleged white supremacist I interviewed in jail for this story on hate crimes, is now being sued by his victim for damages. The victim, Sylvester Wilson, who was punched by Caban last April outside a bar in Santee, is also suing the proprietors of the bar where the attack took place.
Wilson sustained a serious head injury in the attack and Caban was sentenced to 17 years in state prison, 12 years for this crime and 5 years for another hate crime attack.
Wilson is suing the bar, Don’s Cocktail Lounge, Inc. and its owners, for general negligence for failing to stop the attack and for serving Caban and two of his friends alcohol just prior to the attack.
