Mayoral challenger Steve Francis has reached the $4 million mark in his unprecedented self-financed push for mayor, according to newly released campaign disclosures.

Francis gave himself $2.8 million from March 18 to May 17. That brings his personal contributions and loans to his campaign to more than $4 million in the primary campaign. Conversely, Mayor Jerry Sanders brought in $325,470 in the filing period, according to his most recent disclosures. He’s raised a total of $425,961 since the year began and more than $768,000 for the entire campaign.

Update: The original version of this post contained an incorrect figure for Sanders’ total fundraising for the campaign due to a math error. We regret the error.
