While I was talking yesterday with Steve Francis, the mayoral candidate, his changing positions on the Sunrise Powerlink came up.
When I interviewed Francis in February, he said he was “supportive” of building the 150-mile-long power line that would run between San Diego and Imperial County.
I talked to him again in April, and he said he was “casting doubt” on the line’s necessity, a result of conversations with opponents. (The Sierra Club’s local chapter, which endorsed Francis, is anti-Powerlink.)
Yesterday, Francis offered another perspective. He said he is neutral.
