Absentee ballots show a two-point lead for Republican April Boling over Democrat Marti Emerald in the battle for the District 7 City Council seat.

In other races, Carl DeMaio has a 39-point lead over George George in District 5; Todd Gloria has an 11-point edge over Stephen Whitburn in District 3 and Democrat Sherri Lightner is besting her Republican rivals by five points in District 1.

Keep in mind that we are still awaiting results from today’s voting.

Here is the absentee rundown:

District 1:

Sherri Lightner: 4,780 votes; 36.8 percent

Phil Thalheimer: 4,123 votes; 31.8 percent

Marchall Merrifield: 4,079 votes; 31.4 percent

District 3:

Todd Gloria: 3,026 votes; 38.8 percent

Stephen Whitburn: 2,125 votes; 27.2 percent

John Hartley: 1,636 votes; 20.9 percent

Paul Broadway: 422 votes; 5.4 percent

Robert Lee: 310 votes; 3.9 percent

James Hartline: 278 votes; 3.6 percent

District 5:

Carl DeMaio: 8,337 votes; 69.3 percent

George George: 3,685 votes; 30.6 percent

District 7:

April Boling: 5,210 votes; 46.9 percent

Marti Emerald: 4,969 votes; 44.7 percent

David Tos: 586 votes; 5.3 percent

Bill Daniel 336 votes; 3 percent
