The good thing about elections, especially if you lose, is there is always another one around the corner.
Sunday, local Democratic Party Chairman Jess Durfee was among 19 California party leaders elected to the Democratic National Committee by the state’s central committee. He will serve a four-year term.
Durfee’s successful election to the national board came 12 days after he failed to garner enough votes for a spot on the county’s Democratic Central Committee in the June 3 primary.
He is the first San Diegan to be elected to the national committee in at least 24 years, according to the state party.
