With the current union situation regarding public safety employee compensation, no agency can afford to hire any more people, let alone buy equipment. Furthermore, a firestorm overwhelms your firefighting resources every time.

PREVENTION is the only practical solution and having firebreaks properly located to the east of our populated areas are necessary and essential components of any prevention plan. To the environmental objections, I say this: Nature is recovering from two extensive fires during the last five years and doing it a lot better than the residents of this county and without much reimbursement from any agency or insurance company.
