Tuesday, July 8, 2008 | An excellent job by Will Carless … keep those stories coming. I’m not sure how we are going to clean up the City without honest and aggressive journalism like this.

What strikes me as odd is that we are probably on the fifth story from Voice about Carolyn Smith and the SEDC board policies. I don’t see any action from the mayor or council so far to address the controversies. Voice keeps uncovering story after story and we don’t see any action from our representatives.

How is this possible? We have heard stories from corruption in their dealings with developers and now collusion in the way they compensate themselves. Tell me how this is different from stealing from the petty cash box. The only difference is that the petty cash holder is the finance director, and he and the president are sharing on the taking. Oh, and that it cost tax payers $250k.

Let’s see if the Mayor/Council finally do something about this.
